Business schools across the world offer master’s programs in management, finance, accounting, and business analytics. Yet some locations are more renowned for the strength and reputation of specific specialized master’s degrees than others.

Here’s the best countries for your business master’s degree, based on their popularity among business school candidates.*


Best countries for Master in Management degrees

The best countries for Master in Management programs are the UK, Germany, France, US, Spain, Netherlands, and Canada.


The UK is the best country to pursue a Master in Management, according to business school candidates. Among the 50 most popular MiM programs worldwide, 10 are based in the UK. 

London Business School (LBS), whose program is ranked fourth globally in the Financial Times MiM Ranking, offers the world’s most popular MiM. Other top schools like University College London (UCL), Imperial College Business School, and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) are also popular. 

Germany is the second best country to study your MiM. While not as dominant in the FT ranking as the UK or France, German schools are among the most popular with nine of the 50 most popular programs based in Germany. Technische Universität München (TUM), ranked 49th globally by the Financial Times, offers Germany’s most popular MiM. 

France is the third best country for your Master in Management with eight schools among the 50 most popular MiM degrees. These include the Grande Ecoles of HEC Paris and ESSEC Business School. 

The USA, where MiM degrees are growing in popularity, is our fourth best country to pursue a Master in Management degree, while Spain, the Netherlands, and Canada are tied in fifth place.

The best countries for Master in Finance programs are the US, UK, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore.


The US is the best country to pursue a Master in Finance, according to business school candidates.15 of the 50 most popular Master in Finance programs are offered by US schools, that’s despite just two US schools featuring in the top 50 of the Financial Times MiF Ranking.

The most popular US schools are Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, and MIT Sloan School of Management. 

The UK is the second best country for you Master in Finance, with 12 schools of the 50 most popular programs based in the UK. LBS’ Master’s in Financial Analysis is the most popular UK program, and the second most popular globally. It’s joined by finance masters offered by the likes of LSE and Imperial. 

Canada is the third best country for your MiF. It has five schools among the top 50 most popular, led by McMasters University DeGroote School of Business and McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management. Hong Kong and Singapore—home to the world’s most popular MiF offered by NUS Business School—complete the top five.

The best countries for Master in Accounting programs are the US, Sweden, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UK.


The United States is by far the best country to pursue a Master in Accounting (MAcc) if you’re looking for a wide range of programs.

US schools offer 37 of the 50 most popular MAcc programs, led by the MAcc degrees at University of Illinois Gies College of Business, USC Marshall, and University of Georgia Terry College of Business. 

Sweden is the second best country for your MAcc, with four programs listed among the 50 most popular worldwide. The University of Gothenburg Graduate School and Stockholm School of Economics offer Sweden’s top Master in Accounting programs. 

Hong Kong and Singapore are tied as the third best countries for your Master in Accounting, both have three schools among the 50 most popular for a MAcc degree. 

They’re also home to the three most popular MAcc degrees in the world in 2021. These are programs offered by Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, and University of Hong Kong (HKU) Business School. 

The UK is the fifth best country for a Macc degree, with the University of Manchester’s Alliance Business School and the University of Edinburgh Business School featuring in the top 50 programs.

The best countries for Master in Business Analytics programs are the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, France, and Germany.


The US is also the best country for a Master in Business Analytics (MSBA), according to candidates. 34 of the 50 most popular MSBA programs are offered by US schools.

The list of popular US MSBAs is led by the world’s most popular program, offered by Duke University Fuqua School of Business, along with other top MSBA programs offered by the likes of UCLA Anderson School of Management, and USC Marshall. 

Canada is the second best country for your MSBA, with four of the 50 most popular programs. The University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business offers the second most popular MSBA program globally. 

The UK and Singapore are tied as the third best countries for MSBA degrees worldwide, with three schools each featuring in the top 50.

London Business School offers the UK’s most popular MSBA program, making it the country’s most popular business school across all four program types. 

Nanyang Technology University Business School offers Singapore’s most popular MSBA degree. 

Completing the top five most popular countries for MSBAs are France and Hong Kong, who are tied in fifth place.
