HHM CPAS welcomes advisory services manager, accountant
HHM Certified Public Accountants, a full-service CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga and Memphis, has hired Blake Kinder, CFA, as a manager and Joseph Burd as a staff accountant in its Chattanooga Office, according to a news release.
Kinder is a manager in HHM’s advisory services group. With more than a decade of experience in corporate and private finance, Kinder specializes in mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and general advisory for the firm’s clients.
Prior to joining HHM, Kinder worked in corporate strategy and treasury at Signal Energy Constructors. Kinder holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
“We are fortunate to add Blake to our team of advisors,” said Jon Paul Davis, lead partner of HHM’s Advisory Services department in the same release. “His dynamic experience will be an asset as we continue to expand our advisory services.”
Also joining the firm is Joseph Burd, who interned a year and a half in the audit department of HHM, and is eager to continue helping clients as a staff accountant. In his position, Burd prepares individual and business tax returns, completes audit fieldwork and prepares financial statements.
In May 2022, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in accounting.
Smith named treasury sales officer at First Horizon Bank
First Horizon Bank recently named Scott Smith as treasury management sales officer in Chattanooga.
Smith has 17 years of banking experience with more than 13 years in commercial banking, according to a news release. He began his career with JPMorgan Chase Bank in the commercial real estate group and later moved into corporate banking. He has a bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Houston.
As treasury management sales officer, Smith will be developing prospective treasury management clients throughout commercial lines of business within the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia markets. He will work closely with relationship managers to develop, review and analyze client needs as well as provide consultative solutions. He is also charged with assisting customers in finding efficiencies using multiple banking and financial products to help with cash flow and payment fluidity.

Heed Public Relations adds Burr as a senior strategist
Heed Public Relations, a Chattanooga-based public relations agency, has added Shelby Burr as a senior public relations and communications strategist. In this role, she will develop successful communication strategies and implement creative solutions to improve client business needs.

Burr has extensive experience as a marketing, communications, and product management professional. She has driven award-winning marketing strategies for multi-million dollar businesses, launched new products for business-to-business and direct-to-consumer markets, and executed revenue-driving campaigns for multiple client initiatives.
